COVID-19: An Open Letter to Our Community

Dear Community,

We are sure you are aware of the growing concern over COVID-19 (also known as coronavirus). As a healing center, your health and wellness is our top priority. Concerns over COVID-19 are valid, and we are following state and local health organizations to ensure our actions are in accordance with the latest advice of health experts.

coronavirusAs of today, there have been 41 reported cases of coronavirus in Massachusetts. It is anticipated by the experts that this number will continue to rise over the coming weeks and months. While there have been no cases connected to our Center, we are taking three steps to ensure both the safety of our community (clients, teachers, and therapists) and the continuation of our healing services.

  • Cleanliness of facilities: Our administrative team will increase the number of routine cleanings, frequently cleaning and disinfecting common areas such as doorknobs, keyboards, pens, surface areas, and trash-cans. We will increase the frequency of “deep-cleans”, working with our third party cleaning contractors.
  • Education: We will educate our team on the transmission and prevention of COVID-19, and develop updated protocols to ensure our yoga classes and bodywork treatments are in compliance with the latest guidance from health experts.
  • Innovation: We will look for new and innovative ways to continue our healing work, including online group classes, offsite sessions, and virtual individual training.

While we will do our part in the above steps, we urge you to do yours. Please follow the advice of local health authorities. Wash hands frequently, and avoid touching your face. If you are feeling unwell or at a higher risk of infection, please stay home. If you suspect you have come in contact with an individual who has been in contact with COVID-19, please stay home and alert the local health authorities.  For more information, please visit the following:

While we will do our part in the above steps, we urge you to do yours.  Please follow the advice of local health authorities. Wash hands frequently, and avoid touching your face.  Avoid shaking hands. Use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose if you sneeze or cough, and dispose of the tissue immediately.  If you are feeling unwell or at a higher risk of infection, please stay home. If you have recently travelled to an affected area, please wait 14 days before coming to class or treatment.  If you suspect you have come in contact with an individual who has been in contact with COVID-19, please stay home and alert the local health authorities.

As a healing center, our mission has not changed. Like most challenges in life, it is not the challenge, but rather our response to the challenge that defines us. As a center we will continue to look for ways to support, empower, and uplift the community, while sharing what we know and creating space for self inquiry and healing in a safe space.

Sincerely,
Om Namo Center
