Sean O’Hara
Om Train & Personal Training
Sean O’Hara’s roots are in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and he has been deeply involved in movement and physicality throughout his life. He graduated from Harvard College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Government, he recently became licensed in Massage Therapy, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work (’24) with a focus on both micro and macro systems. A competitor from an early age, Sean was a first team All-Ivy student athlete and four year starter on his college baseball team.
Sean has been both a trainer and coach, working with groups and individuals since 2016. Influenced by his own personal experiences with injury, Sean’s sessions emphasize training that prioritizes both subjective experience and objective movement quality. He works within a framework that was passed on to him by the people he has worked under and beside; Santosh Karmacharya, Doug Balzarini and Ryan Mueller of Iron Village Strength and Conditioning, and Jared Monaco of CrossFit Route 1. The training system he works within is the framework he uses to understand the body and mind. Sean aims to mold this framework to you, rather than mold you to the framework – it is an evolving process. He provides clients with support to orient and move themselves toward their vision of physical health, minimizing a sense of lacking and maximizing a sense of wholeness, with an intention to honor our strengths and be at ease with our perceived weaknesses. The expectation is that this will be a subtly uncomfortable process as we both expand and compress what and who we are. Philosophically, we are trying to fine tune our perspective.
When not working, Sean enjoys podcasts, documentaries (design, aesthetics, art, fashion, comedy, biographical profiles of artists and athletes), concerts, sporting events, skiing, surfing, hiking in the Fells Reservation/Blue Hills, exploring difficult ideas in conversation, connecting with friends and family, reading, and solitude. Some joys as of late include: Ted Lasso (tv show), Abstract (documentary series), Francis Ha (movie), Lila by Robert Pirsig (book), Caamp (musician/band), Gaga (movement style), Fortnite (video game), and Paul Klee (artist).
Sean is certified as an LMT and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, offering 1-on-1 training and manual therapy sessions at Om Namo Center, off-site, and online. Sean also teaches OM Train, Strength, and Integration classes. Follow this link to book his Friday class!

I started practicing yoga to stay fit. Somewhere along the path, I realized that the yoga had so much to offer both inside and outside of the classroom. The practice helped me become a better husband, a better father, a friend, a better communicator. I am motivated to keep learning to continue that journey and am inspired in my practice by the students that come to my classes.
