Jane Henderson
Yoga
Jane Henderson, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, TCTSY-F has been teaching since 2007. Her classes thoughtfully combine strong asana, meditation and restorative poses with a focus on alignment, strength and being present and awake to the moment. Jane has taught at various studios in the Boston area. She has worked in schools with children from pre-school through college. Jane completed her 200-hour E-RYT with Coeli Marsh and was a founding member of The Teachers Study Project, also led by Coeli Marsh. In 2024 Jane completed her TCTSY / Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga 300-hour certification. As a life-long learner Jane is inspired and influenced by many local teachers including: Baron Baptiste, Natasha Rizopoulos, Rebecca Pacheco, Chanel Luck, Ramsay Trussell & Shannah Green. She has taken yoga workshop/trainings with teachers from around the US including: Tias Little, Jillian Pransky, Mathew Sanford, Shiva Rea, Noah Mazee, and Jason Crandall. She has studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at Brown Mindfulness Center and has participated in many mindfulness retreats.
Jane is passionate about her work with WholeSchool Mindfulness, a nationwide organization making mindfulness programming an integral part of educational institutions. Jane hopes the yoga we practice on the mat can translate into the rest of our lives and into the world. Jane’s classes celebrate all the things yoga has given her: strength to do things she thought impossible, serenity in the midst of chaos and courage to undertake challenges. More than fifty years of life experience has been Jane’s greatest teacher and surviving breast cancer has been one of the most powerful forces in her growth.
“I love being able to show up as I am and share that teaching. My practice is continually inspired from a range of things: practicing other types of yoga (other than vinyasa), and studying how the body works in other activities (running, weight training, skiing, biking). I love to see how everything is connected.”
